Motion sickness affects many people when they ride in cars and on boats but perhaps the most inconvenient place to experience it is on a plane. Referred to as airsickness, it can be terribly inconvenient to be trapped on an airplane unable to get up from your seat when you are feeling nauseous.

Airsickness is nothing to be embarrassed about, in fact almost 29% of all pilots even experience it! This is a normal body response to an unusual stimulus. Your eyes are seeing that you are sitting in one place but your ears or vestibular organs can feel that you are moving up and down. The result can be dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea, burping and increased salivation.

Since airsickness is a problem for millions of travelers as well as pilots, there have been many studies done to determine how to avoid the affects of this problem. Below are some tips that have been learned through the studies, perhaps they can help you avoid airsickness on your next flight.

1. Dont fly when you are stressed out. According to these studies the two most common causes of airsickness are anxieties and stress. If you are already stressed out before you even board the plane, your chances of experiencing airsickness are increased because your body already has too much to deal with and will have a hard time adjusting to the sudden change of environment. But who isnt stressed out these days? Since stress may be hard to avoid, you might try learning some stress reduction techniques or change things in your life that are stressful. These can help you in everyday life but also will help to make your flight more enjoyable.

2. Dont overeat before flying. OK, so if you know you get airsick you probably already feel queasy just thinking about getting on the plane so overeating probably isnt going to be a problem for you. However, some folks might want to eat up before they get on the plane and its thought that large meals, especially ones loaded with salt, might trigger airsickness.

3. Dont move around too much in flight. Well, it stands to reason that if you have motion sickness, adding more motion into the mix will make you feel worse so if you are already feeling the affects of airsickness just stay put in your seat.

4. Dont worry, be happy. If you get airsick, there really isnt a lot you can do about it but if you let the anticipation of being airsick get you into a frenzy then your experience will probably be much worse. The best thing to do is just accept the fact that you might feel a little motion sick and let your body and mind become accustomed to the environment. If you approach it with a relaxed attitude, you may even start to enjoy yourself after a few hours into the flight.

Airsickness is not a huge problem and shouldnt get in the way of you flying off for an exotic vacation. You just need to relax and learn to adjust the bodys condition so as to avoid conflict of senses.

Have you always dreamt of seeing the world, experiencing different cultures, and meeting new people? Perhaps its time for you to do some traveling. If you haven’t done a lot of traveling before, you might benefit from some of the following tips, including how to arrange cheap travel, how to decide where to travel to, where to find travel trailers, and whether or not you need travel insurance for your trip.

Commercial airlines have made it possible for people to travel almost anywhere in the world for fairly affordable prices. Of course air travel isn’t cheap, but a six hour flight is certainly faster and more convenient than a thirty day boat ride. Air travel has also broken many barriers and allowed families to live in different countries and still keep in touch. In fact, air travel between countries is so cheap in some parts of the world that it’s often the cheapest way to travel. For instance, one of the cheapest modes of transportation in Europe at the moment is air travel.

For example, if you just want a return trip to Delhi from Mumbai, you can often find two-way travel tickets fewer than two hundred dollars. You can also save money on little things, like bringing your own travel headphones instead of buying a set from the airline. If you’re taking a longer air travel trip, you can expect at least one meal and a movie or two during your flight. However, air travel’s not all sunshine and unicorns – if you’ve ever been on an airplane before you know how scary the toilets are. I always imagine that I’ll be sucked out of the plane when I flush the toilet.

No frills airlines like Paramount Airways Booking and Air India Booking offer some very cheap flights if you book them well in advance. Often, you only have to pay the airport fees. Another benefit of air travel is that it’s one of the safest modes of travel. It often seems as if there are more fatalities from plane crashes because plane crashes are so highly publicized, when in fact, you’re far more likely to die in a car accident than a plane crash. If you’re planning a trip, remember that booking air travel tickets well in advance can save you a lot of money. Air travel is also cheaper if you are flexible about your destination.

Cheap travel is usually easier if you plan ahead. You can buy travel guides specifically for cheap travel that offer tips on how to save money on everything from flights to bus fares to accommodations, and meals.

British Airways is of course the national airline of the United Kingdom. It is a massive airline and flies both nationally and internationally to many hundreds of destinations. The main headquarters of the airline is Heathrow Airport in London.

British Airways operated for many years in a protected position as certain routes were only offered to them and they were (and to some extent still are) given preferential placement at most of the major UK airports like Heathrow and Gatwick. Unfortunately this protection did not last, and like many state-owned airlines, BA has had to re-invent the business in some respects in order to survive the increase in competition. Sometimes this was not handled well, for example with the Virgin Airlines fiasco. British Airlines was eventually fined and forced to apologise for dirty tricks that it carried out against Virgin Airlines.

British Airways was one of only two airlines that operated the Concorde. This became a flagship for the airline and it was used for daily flights between London and New York. However eventually the Concorde was taken out of operation due to spiralling costs and decreasing passenger numbers. At the moment the airline operates predominantly Boeing aircraft, with one notable difference. BA have fitted the aircraft with British-built Rolls Royce engines. However they also have a smaller fleet of Airbus.

Owing to the global recession in the period 2008-2009, British Airways has had to restructure and perform major cost reductions and renew revenue generation avenues. Two options have been to begin charging passengers to choose their seats as well as to request that employees work for 1 month without pay.
