The semi-tropical climate of Maui and the two close-by islands of Molokai and Lanai present golfers with perfect golf weather nearly 365 days a year. These islands are a golfers paradise.
Together, these islands offer 16 beautiful and challenging courses that blend into the natural features of the Maui landscape. Maui golf courses are more difficult than they first appear. They feature different types of grass, unusual natural hazards, tradewind gusts and distractingly beautiful views. Maui golf courses could be considered a golfer’s dream and nightmare all rolled into one.
Overall, I would say that the South Maui courses offer the best golfing. West Maui courses tend to have a little more wind. Kapalua courses in West Maui nearly always present extremely high winds. At both South Maui and West Maui courses, the greens break toward the ocean, even if they break uphill it is toward the ocean. Read the rest of this entry »
You don’t have to be a senior citizen to find most amusement parks like the Disney parks, Universal’s two large parks and Sea World daunting. The amount of walking that is entailed and the huge crowds can be enough for anyone to have second thoughts about spending an entire day there. Many times grandparents find themselves at these same parks they took their own kids to in order to relive the experience through their grandchildren’s eyes.
That doesn’t mean that the crowds are any thinner or the walking is any less. But, is Orlando a destination that lures seniors to come on their own? The major parks sure hope so and for those people who just adore everything Disney, they will certainly make time to revisit Orlando every few years or so. Read the rest of this entry »
